You Give Me

You Give Me

Humbly I come to the end of me once again,

The world often wants more than I can give,

I feel completely dry in this deserted land,

God I need a rejuvenating touch from Your hand.

For in You I find the strength to be,

Just the Child You called me,

Curling up in Your arms and secure in Your hands,

Abba you give me all I need to stand.

I need to come before You and confess,

I struggle being needed and making my best yes,

I know before I face the world I need to face You,

Yet I somehow believe I can give enough to get through.

For in You I find the strength to be,

Just the Child You called me,

Curling up in Your arms and secure in Your hands,

Abba you give me all I need to stand.

Before I give, Abba fill me,

Before I give, Abba lift me up,

Before I give, Abba consume me,

Before I give, Abba search all of my thoughts

For in You I find the strength to be,

Just the Child You called me,

Curling up in Your arms and secure in Your hands,

Abba you give me all I need to stand.

Humbly on my knees,

And filled with Your love,

I stand.

love the repeating stanza. and this line, “I know before I face the world I need to face You”. I’ve felt that tug at my own heart many times lately. Sometimes in an effort to reach past the ordinary in my day and acknowledge Jesus I will start praying out loud while doing chores, perhaps sink to my knees for five in a room somewhere a lone or if I’m driving reach me hand out and ask Jesus to hold it. Its been a theme in my life as of late, That the approval and love of Jesus are the only things that can satisfy. The only things necessary to make me stand. Thank you Bethany!

Katie says November 30, 2014

This is beautiful Bethany! It sounds like a song to me- did you set it to a tune?:)

    Bethany says November 30, 2014

Hey FMF Snail Mail friend!! :). I get asked that so much! Sometimes, I free write and it comes out as a poem/song. All of my poetry sounds very rhythmic to me. A few I’ve put to music. It’s fun (but I can’t sing!).
