Through The Storm

Sharing one of my poems this week. During my quiet time I love to write and sometimes, poems just naturally come out! I found this today and I felt called to share. Be blessed and feel free to pass along to a friend!

File Sep 16, 1 30 15 PM

I am dedicating these words to you – the very one I am thinking of right now. You are staring at this screen with a tight lump in your throat. The storm you find yourself in right now seems never ending. You are tired, exhausted and you may even feel completely alone. I want these words to reach across the screen and warm your heart. May His presence bring peace to your mind and rest for your soul today. Walk in faith, grab His hand and walk with me as we find purpose through the storm.

Through The Storm

As the dark clouds of doubt and fear roll in,

I fall to the ground, twisted within,

Sometimes Lord I doubt Your presence and plan,

All I see is my troubles and I miss seeing Your hand.

Yet You hold me through every tear that falls,

I am not alone, but equipped and called.

Though I find myself in the storm once again,

I will find Your purpose through the power of Your hand.

The rain increases and the pain weighs real,

Darkness removes all comfort I long to feel,

Yet You are ever present in my time of need,

This rain is bringing nourishment to this little mustard seed!

Yet You hold me through every tear that falls,

I am not alone, but equipped and called.

Though I find myself in the storm once again,

I will find Your purpose through the power of Your hand.

God I need You now more than ever before,

You have used this storm to remind me that I am Yours,

At my least You make me strong,

Even in the thunder Lord You sing over me Your song!

You hold me through every tear that falls,

I am not alone, but equipped and called.

Though I find myself in the storm once again,

I will find Your purpose through the power of Your hand.

Through the storm, You make all things new,

Through the storm, You draw me closer to You,

Through the storm, I learn to fervently seek Your face,

Through the storm, I cling to the warmth of Your embrace!

You hold me through every tear that falls,

I am not alone, but equipped and called.

Though I find myself in the storm once again,

I will find Your purpose through the power of Your hand.

Thank you for sharing. That poem was truly inspired, and a good reminder.

What a beautiful poem, my friend. Just like plants need rain to grow, so we need the storms of life to strengthen our relationship with Jesus.

Great analogy Anita! Thanks for your encouragement!

“This rain is bringing nourishment to this little mustard seed!” I love this part…makes me tear up. So often I mistake the Father’s care for me as neglect. Sometimes He lets life weigh me down to make me stronger. I don’t always give Him the benefit of the doubt…yet He stays. Oh, how He loves you and me 🙂 Stopping by from BOTH Coffee for Your Heart AND Three Word Wednesday (great minds think alike?).

I have seen you on those linkups before —something makes me wonder if you will be attending Allume? If so, we should grab a meal together! If not, I’m sure I will see you at the linkups another time. 🙂

Britta – I know you as well from the linkups! These connections are great! I am not going to Allume, but would love to go sometime!

So much simple truth in these words, yet it is so easy to forget. Thank you for sharing your heart today. Visiting from Tell His Story.

Thanks Becky! Glad you could stop by!

You are a poet and know it! Lovely my friend – as you are!

    Bethany says September 22, 2015

    Susan –
Not sure if I can call myself a poet but love sharing my heart here!

“This rain is bringing nourishment to this little mustard seed”…Just the words for this mustard seed. I prayed this morning for God to speak to me directly somehow, someway…and as i was browsing through encouraging write ups through Holley’s Coffee for your heart, your poem,Bethany was just meant for me. Thank you Bethany for such beautiful encouraging words. Thank you God that” I will find your purpose through the power of your hand.”

    Bethany says September 22, 2015

    Zeena –
You are so encouraging! Your words just built me up! Thank you!

Tara says September 16, 2015

Bethany, beautiful poem! And I am uttering the words “me too” back to you, because I am a poet too. I have a poetry binder that I keep. I shared some the other day with colleagues as I read as part of an open mic night. So fun to find someone else who enjoys writing poetry. Also I am so thankful that God is there. So much THIS: “Yet You hold me through every tear that falls,..”

    Bethany says September 22, 2015

    Tara –
I would love to try an open-mic night! I’ve never done that! Way to go!

Kristi says September 19, 2015

    Bethany says September 22, 2015

Kristi – Thanks so much for your encouragement!
